Rock Band

Post by SpiderFairy on Tue 16 Dec 2008 - 6:57

Okay...so for truly the first time I played Rock Band at a party this past Saturday.

Oh my goodness!!! That was SO much more fun than I thought it would be. Now, I didn't play any of the instruments....god help everyone....I sang. But....since I picked certain songs....I didn't torture anyone. Too badly.

We played on the XBox 360 platform, but I'm sure it's pretty similiar on others. I'm definitely planning on buying this for our own XBox 360 as soon as this holiday madness is over.

Anyone else got any great stories about Rock Band? Guitar Hero? Etc?

Cheers!

Anita

I love Rock Band so much and can't wait until I'm able to afford Rock Band II for Wii!

I've only played Rock Band for the 360, but I'm in love with the experience. Of course you can play it alone, but the real fun is in getting a bunch of your friends together to join in the ride. Sometimes people have a real hard time loosening up and getting into it, but once they do it's so much fun. There's such a fun selection of songs, and I really like rotating instruments so it really keeps you on your toes.

Though it certainly has its competitive elements, Rock Band seems to focus more on the cooperative aspect of game play. While I enjoy putting noobs in their place, I'd much rather do co-op when I'm with friends, and Rock Band definitely provides that!

Agreed. The co-op is awesome for this game. You get to be silly with your friends and pretend to be a rock star. Woot!!!

My husband just got me my Christmas present and so I'll be playing more often now. Smile He got me Guitar Hero World Tour (for the 360).....which has the drum set with the cymbals. Woot!

So will have to have some peeps over to my house to practice soon. LOL

Heck....maybe this will make me a better singer. LOL

Cheers!

I've played Rock Band a lot, love to play drums. Ooooo!

But I actually remember playing Rock Band for a friend's birthday. It was a Rock Band - battle of the bands birthday. They got a trophy for the winners and it was so much fun.

I so would love to do that for my birthday, but I sadly don't have Rock Band personally. I have to visit friends that have it.

If you have a 360, I would seriously suggest investing in the wireless drumkit for Rock Band 2.
Is it better? Yes. It's more sensitive than the Rock Band 1 version and will allow for the expansion cymbals plus no more wires! The 360 allows for more customization (band members) & downloadable content than the Wii or PS, that's about the only difference.
Rock Band items will work with the Guitar Hero World Tour. It just requires a different combo for the drums to activate star power.

Hopefully there will be a Rock Band Battle of The Bands 2009.

I think we need to get our 360 online connection working. Smile

I see the Nerd/Geek Girl band coming through the Internet Waves!!! heh!

And 2nd on the wireless sets. That's the set my husband bought me and it rocks so much. So far only used the Mic and Drums....but it's so much better without the wires. Smile

Rock band's awesome. You'll really feel as if you're really a
ROCK STAR. Got it on my console and I really enjoy playing
with my friends. As if we're on a band and playing up to our
heart's content.

We're also planning to add Guitar Hero: Mettalica on the list.
We really can't wait for an awesome act.

Ah, Metallica. Love to play their music, but didn't really like playing them on Guitar Hero. But that's just me being a weirdo.
